   Evelyn’s House of 78RPM’s is an auction site of vintage, rare, collectible and interesting 78rpm records. We deal in 78rpm's records
   and only 78rpm's records. We have, what we believe, to be the largest collection around with over 120,000 records dating back to
   early 1900's. This includes all types of music from swing, jazz, big band, classical, and even children’s, ... you name it and we’ve
   probably got it.

All our 78rpm records are sold via auction – typically on auction sites such as Ebay or Yahoo!. Once you have reviewed our
catalog and located a record you’d like to purchase, our process works as follows:

you request we initiate an auction of the desired record(s);

we pull the record from our warehouse, clean it, scan the label, research the artist, initiate an auction then notify you and the rest of our mailing list that a new auction has begun;

frequently we will also create a sound bite so bidders can hear part of the records contents and get a rough idea of the quality of the recording;

upon conclusion of the auction, the winner bidder will be notified; payments arrangements made and the record will be shipped;

insurance is always recommended due to the fragile nature of vinyl records and escrow arrangements are also available for those buyers uncertain of their purchase or purchasing rare, high value records;

if desired, a CD recording of the record will be created so the winning bidder can also listen to the records contents (frequently requested by those winning bidder who do not possess a 78rpm record player). Such recordings include the original transcribed recording, made when the record is played; as well as an electronically cleaned copy with a limited amount of noise, hiss, and pops removed.

also if desired, the record can be sent to one of several recording studios who can professionally create a much cleaner CD recording of the records contents.

History

   Let me tell you a little about us and how we came to be in the record business. Our owner had always been interested in and collected
   Disney children’s storybook readers. One day, on    his travels, he visited a small out-of-the-way bookstore in Roseburg, Oregon. Being
   the only customer in the store, he chatted with the store manager who took our owner past a small pile of old 78rpm records. Being the
   curious type, asked about the collection and if there were any children’s storybook readers. "Why yes there are!" said the manager and,
   after browsing through the pile, he found "Bozo at the Circus". While paying for his newfound prize, the manager said, "If you like records,
   let me tell you what happened to us…"

   To make a long story short, it seems a collector died a few years ago (back in 1994). He ran a company known as Myrtle Creek Records
   The collector left no provisions for his record collection, so it changed hands several times and was virtually headed straight for the dump.
   Our owner rescued the entire collection from eminent destruction and Evelyn’s House of 78’s was born!

   Currently our collection consists of over 120,000 records – all vintage 78rpms. Our owner has bought, sold and collected these over
   the years (in small quantities), but now with the addition of this recent purchase, it is time to get serious. Unfortunately the catalog for
   this new acquisition was lost when it’s previous owner died so the massive task ahead of us right now is to fully and completely
   re-catalog the entire collection. This is a slow and time consuming process, but we’re making headway! We’re currently maintain
   just shy of 3,000 square feet of storage space.
